The Basics
- Level: Intermediate
- Used Photoshop CS2
- Translatable: All photoshop versions, not PSP compatible
1) Copy your base and set it to screen. If you base it too bright then lower the opacity to your liking, if its too dark copy the screen layer as many times as you'd like. For this icon I used one screen layer at 100%.
Result:
2) Add a Color Balance Adjustment Layer, check Preserve Luminosity, and use the below setings.
Midtones: 0, 0, -100
Shadows: 0, 0, -100
Highlights: 0, 0, 0
Result:
3) Add a Selective Color Adjustment Layer, make sure the method is 'Relative' (not absolute), and use the below settings.
Reds: -100, 0, +100, 0
Yellow: 0, 0, -25, 0
Neutrals: +20, 0, -25, 0
Result:
4) Copy the Selective Adjustment Layer once.
Result:
5) Add another Selective Color Adjustment later with the method set to 'Relative' and use the below settings.
Reds: -20, +20, -20, 0
Yellow: 0, +40, -60, +10
Neutrals: +15, +10, -20, 0
